I’m super late in posting this, in fact it’s from 4 months ago! Happy (belated) Halloweeen! ??

Spider vs. the Living Dead was made by Threadwood the creative partnership of my husband Scott DaRos and myself. We bring unique design sensibilities to clay, stop motion, and 2D animation projects. (Click through to see more about our team).
One will catch you in it's web…
The other will stalk you until you’re dead...
Who will get the last bite in a battle between the world’s most terrifying, flesh-craving beasts!?

Special thanks to my father in law, Ron DaRos, who designed the title lettering.

aaaaand a little Behind the Scenes from my instagram of us setting up the space (and you can peep the start of the scenic painting for the background)

It feels great (albeit a little pathetic) to have tackled my first gouache piece since college! I'm also looking forward to more now that I've dusted off most of the cobwebs. Hooray!

See the sketch for this below in my More Mermaids blog post!

Crystal & Collin were two of my very best friends in college whom I met by being involved in our A Cappella scene at UConn. Crystal and I were in an all-female group called Rubyfruit and Collin was in an all-male group called CDN (A Completely Different Note). It was a very happy occasion when they got married!

For my gift to them I wanted to paint the most important elements of their life when they got married. They had a beautiful wedding and reception in an apple orchard in CT, where Collin and his groomsmen (and former group members) sang an A Cappella version of "My Girl".  I wanted to celebrate that they had recently started their new adult lives in Chicago Illinois by painting the skyline, and because I painted this after their wedding I was lucky enough to grab a photo from the day and paint it on the last two panels.

Then my boyfriend Scott and I rented a car and drove out to Chicago to drop off the paintings and hang out with them in their new city with their also new and super cute pup Ivy.
